Juanita always seemed to have a knack for cooking those long-standing traditional dishes native to the central region of Mexico. You know the ones that require planting seeds in the springs, tending to during the summer, harvesting in the fall, and only then begin to consider lighting logs under the comal. Early mornings consisted of grinding hominy into the day's masa for tortillas. Let's say Juanita understood good food.
Flash forward to 2002: Vista gets a new lady armed with her traditional recipes, and a desire to demonstrate how Mexican Food in North San Diego should be offered.

We are proud to have been serving not only the community of Vista, CA but also much of North County San Diego and surrounding cities. Now expanding into Southern Riverside County, we are delighted to serve our highly revered traditional style Mexican cuisine to all our patrons from near and far. La Gordita promises to continue to serve fresh, high quality meals with top-tier customer service.
